These locomotives were a variation of the 4300 class with altered weight distribution and side window cabs.
The 9300 class was built new with the same weight modifications as the 8300 class and in addition they had side window cabs and outside steam pies. Between 1956 and 1959 they had their ballast weights removed and they were renumbered 7322-7341.
