This locomotive was built in 1922 by the Avonside Engine Company at Bristol to work at the Farleigh Mill near Mackay to haul sugar cane to the mill. It is one of four such locomotives built by Avonside and dispatched to Australia in 1922 but is the only one to have survived.
It was withdrawn from service in the 1960s and placed on a plinth in a park near Farleigh Mill where it remained for many years.
It was subsequently purchased by a local enthusiast and placed in storage at Mackay.
In November 2020 it was reported that the locomotive had been returned to the UK but to Wales.
The locomotive was transported to the Bala Lake Railway in the previous month. The locomotive was described as being 90% complete and the new owners indicated that the plan was to restore the locomotive and use it on the Bala Lake Railway in north Wales.
