Nordvästra stamban , now known as Värmlandsbanan. In 1876 the extension beyond Strömtorp to Otterbäcken am Vänern was opened.  Originally, the route was mainly used to transport iron ore and pig iron from the mines and ironworks in the Bergslagen region to the steelworks in the Karlskoga area and to the Otterbäcken port in Vänern. Passenger traffic was always of little importance and was stopped in 1966.

Once the line was open the small locomotive was found to be unable to handle the heavy ore traffic and around 1880 more powerful engines were purchased to undertake the work.

In 1892 the locomotive was sold to Skåne-Smålands Järnvägs  to aid with the construction of the railway there. It remained in Strömsnäsbruk until 1904, when the locomotive was sold on to Sockerbolaget’s facilities in Linköping.

There does not appear to be any records of the locomotive undergoing any major renovations until 1948 when it was sent to Motala’s workshop for complete renovation.

In 1956 the locomotive was restored close to its original delivery condition at Nora.

The locomotive was then purchased by the Nora Bergslags Railway for SEK 6,000 in order to preserve it for posterity. The idea was that the locomotive would be transferred to SJ Railway Museum in Tomteboda, but due to lack of space, the locomotive remained in Nora.

The locomotive was set up in a park outside the station building in Karlskoga. It remained there until 1973 when the station was demolished and the locomotive was moved back to Nora.

At Nora a project started to refurbish the locomotive but due to lack of funds and the ambition of the renovation increased the work stopped until 1981.

During 1982 the locomotive was returned to steam and has been used sparingly since then.
