This locomotive was built by Hudswell Clarke & Co in Leeds in 1952 by the Colonial Sugar Refinery (CSR) to work at the Macknade Mill near Ingham.
The Macknade Sugar Company opened a sugar plantation and the Macknade Sugar Mill in 1874 which is the oldest raw sugar mill in Australia.
Close to the mill there is a six kilometre long jetty at Lucinda which is the world’s largest sugar loading facility.
The locomotive was donated to the CSR to the Timbertown Heritage Railway in 1977.
The locomotive spent many years in preservation operating at the Timbertown Heritage Railway at Wauchope in New South Wales hauling visitors around a 2km loop track surrounding the Timbertown heritage park.
The locomotive has been out of service for a few years waiting for an overhaul..
