Above based on number 19 in rebuilt state as a class 6A locomotive.
The class 6 locomotives were originally built as class 7 4-8-0 engines.
The locomotives were originally built by Neilson Reid in 1899and 1900.
They were rebuilt as class 6 locomotives between 1914 and 1923. Some were rebuilt as 4-8-4T and some as 4-8-2T engines.
One locomotive has been preserved - Neilson Reid Works No 5799 – RR 19
This locomotive was built by Neilson Reid in Glasgow in 1900 for the Rhodesia Railways as a 4-8-0 class 7 locomotive.
Some time between 1914 and 1923 the locomotive was converted to a 4-8-2T.
It is now preserved in the Railway Museum at Bulawayo.
