This locomotive was built by W G Bagnall & Company at Stafford in 1906 and delivered to the Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mines (LTEM) and associated firewood tramway at Walhalla, Victoria.
LTEM was started in 1863 by by Hercules United Gold Co. After eight years, the company collapsed after not finding any gold. The mine was then taken over by the Long Tunnel Extended Company in 1871.
The last of the major gold mines in the are closed in 1914.
The locomotive was originally built to run on 2ft 6in gauge track but was regauged to work on 2ft 0in track at Cobdogla to Loveday Light Railway in South Australia.
By 1959 the locomotive was out of use and placed in a park at Barmera.
It was subsequently restored to operation by the Cobdogla Irrigation & Steam Museum, where it gained the name Margaret. The locomotive continues to operate at the museum
