This locomotive was built by Avonside Engine Company in 1924 for the Staveley Coal and Iron Company.
It spent the last few years of its working life at Cranford ironstone quarry in Northamptonshire.
In Preservation Cranford was based for a number of years on the Foxfield Railway but the restoration of the locomotive was completed in April 2016 by the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society at Scunthorpe steelworks where it had moved in 2010.
It remains based at what is now the Tata Steelworks at Scunthorpe where the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society are based.
As of the summer of 2020 the locomotive was operational.
