locomotive was built by the Avonside Engine Company in 1927 for the British Electricity Authority at Barton near Manchester.
It is believed that the KWVR was the first location that the locomotive was based at in preservation although it is not thought to have been used in service there despite being returned to steam. It was sold and left the KWVR shortly afterwards for the Nene Valley Railway.
It did steamed in preservation at the Nene Valley Railway.
The locomotive later moved to the Rutland Railway Museum which subsequently became Rocks by Rail at Cottesmore.
In 2005 it became the last standard gauge steam locomotive to work in a British quarry when it ran to bring down the curtain on operations at Barrington Cement Quarry in Cambridgeshire.
It then spent some time at Rippingdale station, Lincolnshire.
In December 2024 the locomotive was moved to Haworth on the Keighley& Worth Valley Railway following an extensive contract overhaul at Riley & Son (E) at Heywood.
