This locomotive was built by the Beyer, Peacock & Company at Gorton, Manchester in 1915 for the South African Railways (SAR).
It entered service as a class 14B locomotive but following being refitted with a Watson boiler it was reclassified as a class 14R engine.
The locomotive is owned by the Transport Heritage Foundation (THF) and believed to be at the Bloemfontein Locomotive Depot.
North British Locomotive Company Works No 20568 – SAR 1576
This locomotive was built by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow in 1914 for the South African Railways (SAR).
It entered service as a class 14A locomotive but following being refitted with a Watson boiler it was reclassified as a class 14R engine.
The locomotive is privately owned by the Umgeni Steam Railway.
