Beyer Peacock Works No 6936 – RR 271 & 350

This locomotive was built by Beyer, Peacock and Company at Gorton, Manchester for the  Rhodesia Railways (later Zambia Railways and National Railways of Zimbabwe) in 1940 as a class 15 locomotive.

In 1947 the locomotive was one of the ones chosen to haul the Royal Train between Bulawayo and Salisbury (Harare). In the mid 1980s the locomotive was placed on display at Kadoma, Zimbabwe. At this time the locomotive had been cosmetically restored but by 2010 the locomotive was looking in somewhat poorer
