Dübs and Company Works No 3644 – CGR 731 & SAR 1019

This locomotive was built by Dübs and Company in Glasgow in 1898 for the Cape Government Railways where it ran on the Eastern System as number 731.

It later became SAR number 1019 in 1912 following the establishment of the South African Railways (SAR).

The locomotive is owned by the Transport Heritage Foundation (THF)

In the 1970s it was located at the Chrysler Works in Pretoria.

It is now believed to be at Witbank Locomotive Depot
