This locomotive was built by John Fowler in Leeds in 1899 and delivered to Mossman Mill, north of Cairns.
While the Mossman Sugar Cane Mill was built in 1896, the first sugar was not crushed on site until one year later.
The locomotive was taken out of service in 1965 and stored at the mill until 1973, when it was purchased for preservation by the Australian Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Society (ANGRMS).
In 1974 it was moved to Brisbane for storage before finally arriving at the ANGRMS site at Woodford, north of Brisbane, in 1983.
No restoration work has yet been undertaken on the locomotive.
