Neilson & Co Works No 4930 – CGR 728 & SAR 1011

This locomotive was built by Neilson & Company in Glasgow in 1896 for the Cape Government Railways where it entered service on the Eastern System as number 728.

It later became SAR number 1011 in 1912 following the establishment of the South African Railways (SAR).

The locomotive is privately owned and is on static display at Keetmanshoop in Namibia.
