North British Locomotive Company Works No 16279 – CSAR 730 & SAR 942

This locomotive was built in 1904 by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow for the Central South African Railways (CSAR).

In 1912 it was renumbered as SAR 942 following the formation of the South African Railways (SAR).

The locomotive is owned by the Transport Heritage Foundation (THF) it has been placed on a plinth at Witbank station.
