North British Locomotive Company – Works No 27311   3411     

This locomotive was built by the North British Locomotive Company in 1953 and entered service with SAR as a class 25NC locomotive.

The locomotive remained in services with the SAR until the end of steam in 1997. It spent at least some of its time in the latter days based at the Beaconsfield shed in Kimberley.

By 2001 the locomotive was on static display on a plinth on Kimberley station and has remained there since then. The display is part of the Transport Museum of Kimberley.
