North British Locomotive Company – Works No 27361   3501  

This locomotive was built by the North British Locomotive Company in 1954 and entered service with SAR as a class 25 locomotive. It was rebuilt as a class 25NC none condensing locomotive in the 1970s.

The locomotive was last known to be stored in the locomotive depot at Kimberley.

This locomotive was identified by the South African Heritage Resource Agency (SAHRA) in 2013 as a category C engine that did not meet the SAHRA criteria or merit retention but was available for purchase or lend/lease.
