This locomotive was built by Andrew Barclay in 1949 and was employed by the National Coal Board (NCB) in the West Ayr Area as No 21 at Pennyyenie Colliery.
The locomotive is now preserved at the Scottish Mining Museum at Newtongrange near Dalkeith which is the site of the former Lady Victoria Colliery. The Lady Victoria Colliery was mothballed after the miners’ strike but was never brought back into use. It has now been developed as the Scottish Mining Museum and offers a rare chance to explore the best preserved group of Victorian mining buildings in Europe.
The locomotive is on static display.
